About the Lower Garden District
The Lower Garden District runs from 1st Street down toward the Crescent City Connection and the Convention Center, bounded on the lake side by St. Charles Avenue and a run of streets including Felicity, Prytania and Julia.
The Census Bureau puts its area at 1.16 square miles, 18 percent of it water, at an elevation of about six feet. It borders the Irish Channel, the Garden District and Central City.
