About Broadmoor
Broadmoor sits on the lake side of South Claiborne Avenue, up to Eve Street, between Washington Avenue and Jefferson Avenue. Its historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
Before it was built up the area was a large marsh, and it was only substantially developed in the early 20th century once drainage improved. A pumping station at Broad Street and Washington Avenue opened there in 1903.
